The Waukegan Park District and the Waukegan Historical Society invite you to the official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony for the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie today at 12pm. Located at 1 N. Sheridan Road in the heart of Downtown Waukegan overlooking Lake Michigan, the long-vacant, historic Carnegie Library has been beautifully restored and transformed into a vibrant museum showcasing Waukegan’s dynamic and diverse history.

Special Recreation Service of Northern Lake County - Waukegan

 Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County (SRSNLC) is an intergovernmental cooperative entity that provides community recreation to persons with disabilities at the Waukegan Park District and the Zion Park District. The Waukegan Park District has been a member park district of SRSNLC since 2000. Their mission is to educate citizens to become responsible, productive, and contributing members of our society by preparing them through recreation in a dynamic and caring environment, promoting enthusiasm, and inviting their participation.

Youth Sports Programs

The Waukegan Park District offers a series of youth programs that focus on the fundamentals of each game. Teamwork and sportsmanship are emphasized in the team sports. In all clinics and skills programs, participants learn the rules of the game, practice basic skills and play games to gain experience. All skill levels are welcome!
